Time Warner, Southwestern Oakland Cable Commission & MGTV Partnership
Will Bring State Gov't Coverage to Viewers

(Lansing, Michigan)—Cable subscribers throughout the Farmington, Farmington Hills, and Novi areas are now able to watch their state government in action on Michigan Government Television (MGTV) thanks to a unique agreement by MGTV, Time Warner Cable, and the Southwestern Oakland Cable Commission (SWOCC). SWOCC will carry MGTV's programming on their government access channel, channel number 15. Time Warner Cable will furnish initial start up fees and ongoing support for the programming.

MGTV, a non-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation modeled on C-SPAN, provides unedited coverage of all branches of Michigan's state government, including live and tape-delayed House and Senate sessions and committees, live Michigan Supreme Court oral arguments, and events from the Executive Branch. MGTV also offers live phone-in shows with state government leaders. The programming is available from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

MGTV is a public affairs initiative of Michigan's cable television industry. Time Warner Cable was a founding member of MGTV.
