Ballot 2002
MGTV Will Offer Live Phone-in Programs With
Top-of-the Ticket Candidates


(Lansing, Michigan)óMichigan Government Television (MGTV) will offer a series of live MGTV Forums with statewide candidates for office as part of its Ballot 2002 election coverage. Below is the schedule as of this date:

Michael Cox, Republican candidate for attorney general: Monday, October 14th at 10:00 a.m.
Butch Hollowell, Democratic candidate for secretary of state: Monday, October 14th at 1:00 p.m.
Gary Peters, Democratic candidate for attorney general: Wednesday, October 16th at 10:00 a.m.
Elizabeth Weaver and Robert Young, Republican-nominated candidates for Supreme Court Justice: Thursday, October 17th at 1:00 p.m.

MGTV has invited major party candidates for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, and Supreme Court justice to participate in these live, phone-in programs, each approximately one hour in length.

MGTVís cable television viewers are encouraged to phone in questions to the candidates. The number to call for the program is (517) 483-7479. In addition, as a part of MGTV's education outreach and partnership with Genesee ISD in the National Student Parent Mock Election, Michigan high school and middle school students will participate in these programs my compressed video or phone.

MGTV, a non-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation, is a public affairs initiative of Michiganís cable television industry and reaches more than 1.5 million homes, schools, and offices served by cable television in Michigan.
